The parks are around us for a daily reset.

Formed on the southern slopes of Medvednica at the end of the 18th and early 19th centuries, Maksimir Park is the first public park in South East Europe as well one of the first in the world.

The park was decorated in an English landscape style in 1839, whose elements have remained to this day. Archbishop Juraj Haulik continues on the arrangement of Maksimir in the origin tone and he is considered as final and most important shaper and maker of the park.

In Maksimir, pavilions and other buildings designed in the park should be emphasized; Mogila pavilion, the Pavilion Bellevue, Chapel of St. George, built in 1863, pavilion Gloriet, the famous pavilion of Jeka built in 1840, the Fisherman's, Mirna and Brezova koliba, the Swiss house (1842.), Gate's house (1847.), the guesthouse, restaurant (1860.) and certainly the most famous Maksimir building - a belvedere built in 1843.

And lakes, First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, one more beautiful than the other.

Maksimir is protected by laws of nature protection and the protection and preservation of cultural goods, as a monument of landscape architecture and cultural property.
